Trail Report Jan 23, 2026

The Dammers trails offer some good riding! All open trails remain under caution (yellow), so ride carefully. Higher elevations, Forest Service roads, and logging roads provide the best conditions.

The grooming team has put in serious hours—over 100 miles groomed, including 75 up to North Pond, now open under caution. A few of us even got out on our sleds. We’ll be grooming tonight and early Sunday morning ahead of the snow event arriving Sunday/Monday. We’re hopeful this storm will set us up for a great season! If you ride during these times, watch for the groomer and give the operator a wave!

Trail updates and closures:

    •    75 up to North Pond is now open under caution.

    •    4/7 out to Rt4 is closed.

    •    The last section of 73 out to Gap Road is closed. The 73/73A loop is open.

Statewide, the Northeast Kingdom has excellent riding, and Central VT along the spine of the Greens offers good conditions. Most trails on the map show yellow—expect exposed rocks, ice, thin cover, and other hazards. Conditions are fair at best, so use caution. Watch for downed trees and limbs on all trail sections. Remember, no ice is safe ice. Be extra careful during and after the storm, as new trees and branches may have fallen. Just because our trails are open doesn’t mean neighboring clubs’ trails are—update the VAST app and check trail status before you head out!
