This policy is to be used as guidance to determine the status of the trails during the riding season. Trails are: Closed/Open/Open with caution. This determination will be made with the safety of the riders and the protection of property in mind. These two items will be the most important factors of final determination.
The Trails Coordinator makes the decision on the trail status.
If the Trails Coordinator needs guidance, the BOD and the President can be consulted before a decision is made.
There are three different trail status types:
- Closed
- Open
- Open with caution
Whenever there is a change in trail status made by the Trails Coordinator, the following will occur in the following order:
- An email will be sent to the four board members, club President and club Vice President notifying them of the status and any explanation if necessary.
- The Trails Coordinator will then notify our social media person to post trail status and any other necessary information.
- The Trails Coordinator will ensure that the trail status is reflected properly on the interactive online VAST map.
